The mission of the Government Relations Office (GRO) is to foster relationships between Pierce County and other organizations. Building and maintaining relationships and monitoring issues related to the County is key.
The GRO assists the County Council, County Executive, and other County officials to:
- develop policy;
- foster, coordinate, and maintain Pierce County’s relationships with tribes, elected officials, legislative bodies, military installations, and public agencies at the federal, state, regional, and local levels;
- manage legislative activities and monitor regulations and programs related to County operations; and
- inform legislative bodies and public agencies to assist them in making decisions and adopting laws, policies and regulations which are in the best interests of Pierce County.
