Buildable Lands Report  Resources
The 2014 Pierce County Buildable Lands Report fulfills the ongoing reporting requirements stipulated in RCW 36.70A.215, referred to as Buildable Lands legislation.

The results of the 2014 analysis concludes that collectively, among all the jurisdictions, there continues to be an abundant amount of vacant and underutilized land to accommodate the adopted urban housing and employment targets for the County and its cities and towns.

A Focus on Central Unincorporated Urban Pierce County
Central Pierce County provides both opportunities and challenges for accommodating future targeted growth.  As a means to provide stakeholders with a focused look at these, a map has been created that identifies:
  • Residential vacant and underutilized properties accessible by public road;
  • Critical areas;
  • Wetland buffers;
  • Sewer lines; and,
  • Water service areas.

You can access any of the 6 township maps that focuses on the central Pierce County Urban Growth Area (UGA) by clicking on a township on the map to the right.

The 2010 baseline parcel data from the 2014 Buildable Lands Report has been updated to 2015 to identify vacant parcels.  Please refer to the 2014 Buildable Lands Report, Section II: Data Collection for a description of vacant and underutilized land (pages 18-20).
