Meridian Habitat Park

Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center, known to locals as the Puyallup Amphitheatre, is a 36-acre park that includes a community center, several smaller buildings, wooded areas, open grassy areas, wetlands, and a variety of wildlife habitat.


It's Story Time - Come Play and Learn!

Children ages birth to 6 years will enjoy stories, music, songs, art activities, fingerplays, and more from 10-11 a.m. each Wednesday in April. These FREE story times are offered by the Pierce County Libraray System.

The year is 1941; the place, Brooklyn New York. Meet the charming and innocent Brewster sisters, Martha and Abby. The two are famous in their neighborhood for their kindness and generosity. But tranquility gives way to hilarious mayhem when nephew Mortimer stumbles upon a deep, dark family secret. Come enjoy this madcap comedy with a touch of the macabre!

The site can host a variety of events such as weddings, receptions, staff retreats, classes, lectures, and concerts.

The outside grounds are available for drop-in picnics or may be reserved for larger outdoor gatherings with a lovely pond setting and walking area.

Community Center Auditorium Rental:

  • 300 person seating capacity; 200 if seated around tables.
  • Banquet fee with kitchen is $135/hour. Fee is $70/hour without food or use of kitchen.
  • Damage deposits: $100-$350 depending on usage plus food and alcohol.

All fees subject to change.

Kitchen Rental:

  • Our large kitchen includes conventional and microwave ovens, one refrigerator, one sink, and adequate counter space that make this a functional facility.

Break Out Rooms Rentals:

  • We have several break out rooms available for small meetings or classes. No food allowed. Rental fee is $20-$36 per hour.

  • Damage deposits: $100-$350 depending on usage plus food and alcohol.

All fees subject to change.

Rental fees are charged for each reservation. Rental fees includes use of 6 foot rectangle and round tables plus chairs. Depending on the events scheduled in the park, a parking fee may also be charged.

Large areas of park are available to the casual user at no charge.

All fees must be paid in full in order to receive a permit. Please call for availability or to schedule a visit with Cara at 253-841-8515, Monday-Friday, hours vary or ccross@co.pierce.wa.us.


Meridian Habitat Park is located on the corner of 144th Street and Meridian Avenue South in the South Hill area.

From I-5

  • Take Exit #127 (Puyallup/Mt Rainier) and turn unto Hiway 512 going east.
  • Take the WA-161 exit towards South Hill/Eatonville.
  • Turn right onto WA-161(104th St. E).
  • WA-161(104th St. E) becomes WA-161 (S. Meridian). Head south for about 6 miles.
  • Go through 144th Street East traffic light.
  • Turn right into park entrance.

From WA-410 W

  • Take WA-167 S
  • Take the WA-512 towards Puyallup/Olympia.
  • Take the exit towards South Hill/WA-161 S/Eatonville
  • Turn left onto WA-161(104th St. E).
  • WA-161(104th St. E) becomes WA-161 (S. Meridian). Head south for about 6 miles.
  • Go through 144th Street East traffic light.
  • Turn right into park entrance.
