The Wastewater Utility treats incoming wastewater so it's clean enough to release to Puget Sound.
Within the next 5 years we expect to have many job openings due to retirements and expansion of the sanitary sewer system. We will need to hire many new people!
A four-year degree isn't necessary for a lot of jobs, and on the job training is available. Technical schools are also a good way to prepare for a career in the utility industry.
Many entry level jobs start around $20/hour and offer benefits like health insurance. Some require union membership and certificates from state regulatory agencies.
