About Building Amnesty Program & Environmental Enforcement
The Planning and Land Services Building Amnesty Program is a voluntary program that property owners can use to obtain permits for structures that were built without one. There are many benefits and incentives to the program and most questions are answered here in Bulletin 66. You can submit your Amnesty application on line. After you accept the disclaimer select Apply for a Permit under the Applications/Permits menu item.
If you interested in helping us improve the program or just want to give us some feedback, please take our Building Amnesty Program Survey, when prompted the password for the survey is: amnesty
In addition to the Building Amnesty Program this section of Planning and Land Services also handles the following:
- Home occupation / cottage industries
- Construction without the required Building Permit
- Non-compliance of discretionary land use permit conditions
- Critical Area Regulations (Title 18E), which includes: fish & wildlife species and habitat areas, Wetlands and associated buffers
Pierce County Responds also has a role in enforcing the development regulations (Zoning, Shoreline, Etc...) along with solid waste (garbage, junk vehicles, signs, Etc...) in Pierce County. You can report a suspected violation of the regulations enforced by either section by using the button at the bottom of this page or by clicking here.
