The Personnel Board conducts hearings on appeals by employees who are members of the Pierce County Career Service. Appeals may be on a variety of Human Resource/personnel matters, including:
Methods of examination
Appointment or promotion
Suspensions
Disciplinary demotions
Dismissal/discharge

The board also hears grievances in non-union matters also pertaining to the Pierce County Personnel system.
The Personnel Board is scheduled to meet on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held at 5:00 p.m. in the Pierce County Public Services Building, Pantages Conference Room, located at 2401 South 35th Street, Tacoma, Washington 98409, or via Teams.
