This volunteer coach officiated league, offered in the winter/spring season, is strictly a recreation program. There are no tryouts, everyone plays regardless of ability. There are no league championships and no win-loss records kept. Focus will be on positive self-image, self confidence, sportsmanship and physical skills building.  This is not a program for highly skilled players that have previously played together.

  • For boys and girls ages 5 to 8
    Teams are divided into two age groups; ages 5-6 and ages 7-8.
  • Practices and games are played at the Lakewood Community Center gymnasium.
    • Practices are held one evening a week (Monday, Wednesday, or Fridays) at 5:15 p.m. or 6:15 p.m. 
    • League games are played on Saturdays beginning mid April.


  • $50 per child
  • Fee includes team t-shirt, certificate of participation, player's basketball clinic and seven to eight games

    • Registration will be limited to the first 240 children who sign up on a first come-first served basis.

Parent Orientation Meeting and Players Clinic:

  • 2020 DTB at the Lakewood Community Center
    • 10:30-11:30 a.m. for the 5-6 age division
    • 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. for the 7-8 age division
