Emergency Management Exercises
Exercises are opportunities for our partners in the community to train and practice together. They include a variety of scenarios of emergencies that might happen because of the hazards in our county. During an exercise, residents, First Responders, and volunteer groups work together building relationships and helping everyone learn about available resources that can be shared.
Exercises are developed according to the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. There are seven types of exercises in two categories, Discussion based and Operational Based. Discussion based exercises include: Seminars, Workshops, Tabletop exercises, and Games. Operational based exercises include: Drills, Functional Exercises, and Full Scale Exercises.
HLS Region 5 (Pierce County) Training and Exercise Committee meets to allocate Training and Exercise Grant Funding.
