You can respond using the phone or web site: You will need to complete the entire process the first time you access either the phone or the web login. (You can do this only once, as the automated system collects information and does not allow for multiple attempts.)
- To ACCEPT, POSTPONE, or request an EXCUSAL, answer on the web now -- one time only
- To ACCEPT your juror Service on the phone: call 253-798-8808 -- one time only. This will take about 10 minutes or so as you answer the multiple questions.

-
NOTE: this web login can also be used to see your status if you're waiting for an answer on a previously submitted excusal.
Excused Status? - How to Check Your Status
How will you know if you are excused? We no longer send out a letter or postcard.Check your status later by logging in a second time
on our Blue Card Log-In page. If you are excused, it will say 'You are excused'.
- Juror Login
- Step 1 - Verify Name & Employer
- Step 2 - Verify Address and Phone Number
- Step 3 - Answer Qualifying Questions
- Step 4 - Accept, Postpone or Request Excusal
- Response Completed
Check the "certify" box and submit.
If it's not working,
First, check the name on the card to make sure it is you, and not someone else in your family, your neighbor, or a name you don't recognize. Or the data for your DOB may be in our system incorrectly.
Contact us and we'll help you.
STEP 1 - VERIFY NAME AND EMPLOYER
We need to ensure the red & white summons and your jury check are sent to the correct name.
- If your name has changed, please change it here.
- ADA Accomodations: Choose if there is anything you may need so you can serve. We have listening devices and can arrange for a American Sign Lnguage Interpreter. Other language concerns, such as English is not your primary language, will be addressed in the Step 3.
- Add your employer and your occupation.
STEP 2 - VERIFY ADDRESS AND PHONE
Please verify the address is current. If your address has changed, please make the changes to ensure your summons and paycheck are mailed to the right place. Double check to make sure you have it correct.
- If you live out of Pierce County, it may not accept the change of address. Don’t worry, the 3rd step will cover “moved” issues.
Phone number – this is important. We may need to contact you by phone (cell, work or home)?
- Once you are part of a court case, you will get a special badge and court specific instructions. If we cannot find you, we will call you.
- Every morning we do roll call for returning panels assigned the day before. If you are not here, we will call to find out why you are delayed (such as parking.)
STEP 3 - ANSWER QUALIFYING QUESTIONS
This step may resolve some of the issues or concerns you had earlier in this process
- You must mark all the questions honestly and completely.
- Once done, go to the bottom ‘next’ and submit
- 4th step will return the results if you are qualified for jury duty or excused.
To qualify to do jury duty you must –
- Be a citizen
- Live in Pierce County (During your jury sevice)
- Be over 18 years old
- Understand English well enough to go to court and make a decision about the case.
You have to tell us if you may not meet these qualifications.
IF YOU HAVE ANSWERED NO TO QUESTIONS 1-3 AND THE 2ND PART OF QUESTION 4,
you are not qualified for Jury duty, automatically EXCUSED and do not need to come in.
If you are qualified for Jury Duty (none of your answers resulting in an an automatic excusual), you now are at the screen to choose to ACCEPT, POSTPONE to a later date, or request an EXCUSAL.
