Pitch In For Parks

Pierce County Parks in partnership with McLendon Hardware proudly present “Pitch in for Parks” a great volunteer based opportunity to pitch in and help the community.

Come out for one or all of our Pitch in for Parks events

We supply the tools, water and a snack – you bring the enthusiasm to make a big difference in our parks, open spaces and trails. We invite you to come “rain or shine”. Remember dress appropriately for weather conditions, bring gloves and the willingness to get dirty for this community service activity open to all ages (ages 14 and under with guardian) and abilities.

Volunteers are welcome to Pitch In for an hour or two or the entire time.

Did you know that English ivy is classified as a Class C noxious weed in Washington? That means it's a widespread problem in our state. Join us at the "Spot of Shade" along the Grandview Trail, and we'll do our part to clear out the invasive ivy and allow our native plants to grow and thrive.

Join us for a special Pitch in for Parks, celebrating Pierce County Trails Day. From 9:00 am until noon, our Pitch in for Parks trailer and staff will be onsite with information about the program, invasive species, and upcoming volunteer activities. Make sure to stop by and say, "hi!"

Bresemann Forest (map)

We’re continuing our beautification of Bresemann Forest’s entrance area, weeding and mulching around the plants that volunteers have planted over the past couple of years. Then we’ll work our way along the trail, pulling ivy and mulching as we go.
