Pierce County Parks owns 64 acres in the Frederickson area known as the Stan and Joan Cross Park. This property lies in the heart of the County’s urban area. The property was purchased in 2003 to serve a large and diverse population of citizens who lack access to park facilities. The County has conducted extensive planning and public outreach efforts to create a vision for the park that meets the needs of the surrounding communities. Pierce County Parks is currently working on the first phase of the masterplan.
Phase 1 development of the Cross Park master plan includes all park development activities north of Clover Creek. Phase 1 amenities will include a community center, parking areas, a play area, restrooms, open space, and trails. Construction is planned to begin in 2019. The elements of the first phase’s plan may be revised based on final community input, engineering and design.
