    PCC votes on 1/10th of 1% MH tax fails (required a supermajority, it failed on a 4-3 vote).

    PCC sends letter to Gov. Inslee declaring PC in a state of opioid crisis.

    First Opioid Task Force convening.

    President Trump declares public health emergency related to opioid epidemic.

    PCC adopts resolution declaring a state of opioid crisis in Pierce County(PC).

    HSRI addendum presented to PCC.
  • Opioid SummitFeb 2018
    The City of Tacoma (COT)/PC Opioid Task Force convened a community summit on the opioid epidemic to get input for an action plan.
  • Federal LawsuitFeb 2018
    PC joined the federal lawsuit against opioid manufacturers Purdue, Endo, and Janssen, linking their marketing campaign to the opiate crisis
  • Expanded LawsuitMay 2018
    PC expanded their federal lawsuit to include the three largest wholesale distributors of prescription opioids, Cardinal Health, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen.
  • CommitteesJuly 2018
    Stakeholders from the COT/PC Opioid Task Force met and created three committees focused on vetting and implementing the opioid action plan.
