Section of 70th Avenue East to be reduced to one lane Aug. 17 for asphalt repairs

The roadway along 70th Avenue East between the Interstate 5 overpass and Pacific Highway East near Milton will be reduced to one lane from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 17 so the roadway can be repaired and re-surfaced.

Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic on the two-lane road, and motorists should expect long delays. This work is weather dependent.

A Pierce County crew will be making the temporary asphalt repairs. This section of road will be reconstructed in summer 2014.
