The boat launch on 37th Street Northwest on Wollochet Bay will be closed Aug. 19-23 while Pierce County rehabilitates the ramp.
Pierce County crews will replace the existing ramp structure with concrete panels purchased from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
During the closure, boaters may use the following county-operated launch sites: Randall Drive Northwest near Gig Harbor, A Street KPS in Home and Hall Road in Vaughn.
Pierce County rehabilitated the A Street KPS boat ramp in July, and the boat ramps on Hall Road and 72nd Street KPS near Long Branch in 2012.
The county plans to rehabilitate the Randall Drive Northwest ramp in 2014, the Wauna Spit ramp in 2015, and the 10th Street Northwest ramp in 2016. The work is expected to take place during summer low tides between July and September.
