The intersection at Wollochet Drive NW and Fillmore Drive NW near Gig Harbor will be partially closed Aug. 23-25 so crews can replace the pavement. The work will begin at 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 and be completed by 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.
The following traffic revisions will be in effect during the work:

Westbound Fillmore Drive NW will be open to local traffic only between 38th Avenue NW and Wollochet Drive NW.
• Traffic travelling southbound on Wollochet Drive NW will not be allowed to turn left onto Fillmore Drive NW.
• Traffic travelling northbound on Wollochet Drive NW will not be allowed to travel past the intersection. Instead, traffic will be channeled onto Fillmore Drive NW.
Part of a larger projectThis intersection work is part of a larger Pierce County project along a 0.41 mile stretch of Wollochet Drive NW between East Bay Drive NW to Fillmore Drive NW. The project includes expanding the roadway to four lanes, and adding concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and retaining walls along Wollochet Drive NW. The project also includes new street lighting, an enclosed storm drainage system, and improvements to the existing traffic signal at Fillmore Drive NW.
Construction on this stretch of Wollochet Drive NW began in June 2012, and is expected to be completed in November. Miles Resources LLC is the contractor. The anticipated construction cost is approximately $3.6 million.
