Recreation Assistant job opportunity with Parks and Recreation Department

Pierce County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for a Recreation Assistant for the Indoor Playground program at the Lakewood Community Center.

The Indoor Playground program is a parent/guardian-child program with staff involvement. Applicants will guide, instruct and oversee preschool age children in indoor playground activities and preschool related curriculum including games, arts and crafts, cooperative play, and free play activities. Applicants must perform setup of playground toys, maintain a safe program environment, and perform related work as required.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, high-school graduates or teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or community recreation experience preferred. Applicants must be willing to work mornings two days a week. This position is an extra-hire position that pays $11 per hour, 6-9 hours a week. The position is open until filled.
