What to expect when coming to Pierce County District Court

SEATING IS LIMITED IN THE COURTROOM:  To decrease the number of people in the Courtrooms please attempt to limit the number of people in your party.  Persons interested in viewing the proceedings may watch the hearing which is being live-streamed through the District Court website: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/districtcourt

MASKS REQUIRED:  Everyone entering the Courtroom will be required to wear a mask.  If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:  Social distancing (six feet between individuals) is observed inside the County-City Building, elevators and courtrooms.  Gallery seating in each courtroom is limited and you must sit in designated seats only.  If the courtroom is at capacity, you must wait in the hallway in designated areas.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: No one with a fever of 100.4 degrees or greater or has any of the following symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell) should come to court. Please contact the court and advise court staff at least 24-hours in advance, if possible, of your condition (contact information can be found on the court’s website: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/districtcourt.) 

HYGIENE PROTOCOLS: Signs will be posted in the building to remind people of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. High touch areas will be cleaned regularly. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located throughout the County-City Building and in each courtroom.
