$10.7 million awarded to Emergency Rental Assistance providers

Pierce County Human Services was awarded roughly $10.7 million for rental assistance from the Washington State Department of Commerce to support our rental assistance program. This funding will be used to pay past due rent and prevent future evictions for eligible Pierce County residents whose current income falls at or below 50% Area Median Income (AMI).


Fourteen agencies were awarded this funding:

  • Share and Care House, $1,665,831
  • Korean Women’s Association, $305,933
  • Our Sisters House, $126,500
  • Centro Latino, $2,278,759
  • Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center, $715,000
  • Goodwill, $719,142
  • Pierce County AIDS Foundation, $198,433
  • Rainbow Center, $126,500
  • Associated Ministries, $800,600
  • Consejo Counseling, $608,879
  • Helping Hand House, $544,500
  • Metropolitan Development Council, $517,000
  • Tacoma Ministerial Alliance, $418,528
  • Wellspring, $1,000,000

These expenditures are part of the community response and resilience plan for housing stability and homelessness.
