18th annual Fantasy Lights sets record for ticket sales

The 18th annual Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park dazzled thousands of visitors traveling through the park in more than 25,800 vehicles. The event brought in a record $325,801 in ticket sales.

The Northwest's largest drive-through holiday lights show, Fantasy Lights ran Nov. 22 through Jan. 1. The light show features 300 displays along a two-mile loop through Spanaway Park.

2012 Statistics

  • 25,808 vehicles went through Fantasy Lights (up 2,202 vehicles from last year)
  • 56 vehicles less than the record set in 2001
  • 20 full sized busses went through Fantasy Lights
  • 23 mini-busses went through Fantasy Lights (must have 16 passengers)
  • Days of precipitation – 27
  • Dry days – 16
  • Busiest night – Saturday, Dec. 15 with 1,413 vehicles driving through
  • Slowest night – Monday, Nov. 26 just 135 vehicles came by. The first Monday after opening is typically the slowest evening.
